What are Dermal Fillers? Fillers are injectable materials used to treat deficits in facial volume, increase skin hydration and improve skin texture. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are most commonly used as they can be reversed. The ideal filler depends on the are being injected. We only use premium HA products.

What are Anti-wrinkle Injections? Otherwise known as Botox®, anti-wrinkle injections reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing specifically targeted facial muscles.

Over time repeated skin folding and decreased skin elasticity, due to collagen reduction, cause permanent lines in the skin. These lines can become more noticeable as we age and can make us look older. Botulinum Toxin causes muscle relaxation for 2-4 months (on average) by temporarily disrupting nerve activity to muscles. The injected muscle can't contract which allows wrinkles to relax and soften.

WHAT CAN BOTULINUM TOXIN BE USED FOR?

Hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) Treatment

What is Hyperhydrosis? The body uses sweat as a form of temperature control, in order to cool itself. Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating, which means sweating more than normal. Excessive sweating is common and can affect the whole body or just certain areas.

Treatment: Botulinum toxin A (Botox) injections can be used to control the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when other treatments have not been successful, providing longer-lasting results than topical treatments, without the necessity of invasive surgical procedures. Although more useful for axillary hyperhidrosis, botulinum toxin injections can also be effective in treating palmar (hand) and plantar (foot) sweating.

Procedure: Botulinum toxin is injected superficially into the skin and works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. The effects last for six to nine months on average and treatment is associated with a high satisfaction rate among patients.

Polynucleotides are a revolutionary treatment derived from salmon or trout DNA. They work like tiny messengers, awakening your skin's natural ability to regenerate itself.  By stimulating the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (the essential building blocks of youthful, radiant skin) they can helps improve skin texture, elasticity, fine lines and scars (such as acne scars).

Polynucleotides can be used on various areas of the body, from the face and neck to the hands and even stretch marks. They can even improve the appearance of dark circles and laxity around the eyes, neck, and décolletage

What is Microneedling? Microneedling is a skin treatment used to rejuvenate the skin and improve the skins surface. It can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, expression lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, and acne scars, hyperpigmentation and stretch marks. The procedure can typically be used on the face, chest, and hands. Other areas of concern can be discussed with your clinician, as well as possible alternative treatments, or treatments that can be performed in addition to microneedling. The procedure stimulates the body’s own natural processes to produce collagen and elastin, resulting in firmer, tighter, younger-looking skin.

Procedure: Microneedling is performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of sterile, disposable micro-needle tips. The device is used to make multiple small micro needle punctures in the skin’s outer layer, creating very minor micro injuries. In response to the perceived injury, new collagen synthesis is triggered. The micro holes created also allow passage of healing serums deeper into the skin.

Most patients find the treatment easily tolerable. However, if there is a concern about discomfort during the procedure, a topical anaesthetic can be used to increase your comfort. Every patient’s needs are different, so make sure to discuss this with your clinician.

Your microneedling treatment will include a deep cleanse and the application of healing serums during the procedure. For face treatments we will then apply a soothing post-procedure cream and SPF. The entire treatment is normally completed within 30-60 minutes depending on the required anatomical site. New healthy skin appears about 4 weeks after treatment and the effects can last up to two years.

Otherwise known as Chemical or Enzymatic Peels, this form of exfoliation will rejuvenate and brighten your complexion.

What is Chemical peeling? A chemical peel involves the application of highly specialized acids and/or enzymes that remove the outermost layers of dead skin cells, causing superficial peeling and exfoliation. After the dead skin cells are removed, the skin begins to rejuvenate to reveal more glowing youthful skin.

There are different types of chemical peels: light, medium and deep. These relate to the different depths of skin layer removal.  Deeper chemical peels take longer to heal but will tend to produce more significant results. Light chemical peels are less aggressive to the skin but may need to be done more frequently to achieve desired results.

The Benefits:

Procedure

First your skin will be evaluated to determine which specialised peel would be best suited to your skin. Your skin will be cleansed and prepared with a product to degrease the surface of the skin. Then a chemical solution is applied to the skin and left for a specific period of time to allow the product to act on the skin. After this time, another solution is applied to neutralise the effect of the acid. For face treatments we will then apply a soothing post-procedure cream and SPF. The entire treatment is normally completed within 30-60 minutes, depending on the required area to be treated. Over the next 1 to 14 days, depending on how deep the chemical peeling has acted, the skin may shed or peel, revealing renewed and healthy skin. Superficial and medium peel procedures might be repeated every 2 weeks. 3 to 6 peels may be needed to achieve the desired results.

What is Light Therapy? Light Emitting Diode (LED) phototherapy is the application of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits.  The energy is used to improve cellular performance.  Phototherapy is known for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties and has a variety of applications across many medical fields.

What can it do? Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles, decrease inflammation, aid skin recovery, improve skin tone and wrinkles, texture and clarity, ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm and arthritis and kill acne bacteria, and much more.

How Does Light Energy work? Specific wavelengths of light energy, when properly absorbed, up-regulates compromised cells. The light (photons) energy is absorbed by photoacceptors in the mitochondria and used to create adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP produced then stimulates various metabolic processes which can result in the repair and regeneration of cell and tissue components.

The resultant clinical benefits include pain relief in conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, bursitis, tendonitis, ankle sprain, and temporomandibular joint dysfunction, shoulder and neck pain, arthritis, and post-herpetic neuralgia, as well as tissue repair in cases of diabetic ulcer, venous ulcer, mouth ulcer, fractures, tendon rupture, ligamentous, tear, torn cartilage, and nerve injury.

What is Celluma? Celluma is unique and quite unlike any other low-level light therapy device available today. Based on NASA research, Celluma delivers blue, red and near-infrared light energy simultaneously to safely treat a wide variety of conditions. Each wavelength is absorbed by different molecules that act as a signaling mechanism for different cellular processes. For example, some reduce inflammation and some kill bacteria, while others enhance localised circulation.
